TOURNAMENT RULES
Acceptance of Rules
All participating teams should note that by payment of the Tournament Fees, they are deemed to have agreed to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Bangkok International 7’s tournament. A Disclaimer and Indemnity Form, and a Team Registration Form must be signed by the Team Manager/Captain and returned to the Tournament Organizing committee, and received, prior to their team’s first game.
Mode of Play
The Tournament will be played at Bangkok Patana School Sports Grounds in accordance to FIFA laws of the Game except as amended where:
- There shall be no offside,
- Unlimited rolling substitutions without the referee’s permission. Touch hands on sideline, or player in a non-advantageous position with the 1st player coming off the field before the new player enters.
- Field size is approximately 60 x 40 meters, but based on the final layout.
- No slide tackles (stay on your feet), or tackles from behind. A player may slide to keep the ball in play or score a goal provided there are no other players nearby or dramatically affected.
- No challenging the goal keeper. Please pull out of tackles with the goal keeper. Keepers can slide from inside the penalty area.
- Proper football equipment is strongly suggested to minimize risk of injury. All players must wear shoes and socks at a minimum, shin guards are strongly suggested.
Registration of Players
Each Team in the Tournament is allowed to register a maximum of 12 players. All players must be age eligible in the Over 35s, except for 2 field players and 1 goal keeper who can be 30+ years old. In the Over 45s each team is allowed 2 field players and 1 goal keeper 40+ year old player. In the Over 55s, each team is allowed 2 field players 50+ years old, and 1 goalkeeper can be 45+ years old. To be eligible players must reach the minimum age requirement within the calendar year of the tournament.
Players name must be registered on a prescribed Form and handed to Tournament Officials at the briefing or before their first game being played. PROOF OF IDENTITY: photocopy of Drivers License or Passport. Players should note that if requested, the original identity document will need to be shown. NO ID, NO PLAY.
Unregistered Player or Under-Age Player
No player is allowed to play for more than one team in the same age division unless agreed by the tournament organizer (this permission may also be rescinded at any point in time if it appears the teams is gaining an advantage/has enough players to field it’s own team. If a player is found to have played for more than one team, they shall be banned from the tournament. The team(s) will forfeit the game(s) in which the offending player(s) played. Three (3) match points with a 2-0 result will be recorded in favor of each affected opposing team.
If a team is found to have fielded a non-registered player or an under–age player, he shall be banned from the tournament and the team will be disqualified from the Tournament. They shall forfeit the game and 3 match points with 2 goals FOR, will be awarded to each opposing team. This ruling can be made at any time of the event, and may be amended by the organizer with notice to teams.
Tournament Format
Teams will be divided into pools and shall play on a League basis. Format will depend on number of teams in each division.
- In all group games, points will be awarded as follows:
WIN – 3 Points
SCORE DRAW – 2 points
DRAW – 1 Point
LOSS – 0 Points
- If two teams or more tie in points for a place in the group tables, the following
Rules shall apply in sequence as stated below:
- Goal Difference
- Goals For
- Goals Against
- Team vs Team Result
- Penalty kicks (three and then sudden death 1 for each team)
Protest
In the event of a Protest, it must in written form and accompanied by cash deposit of THB 3,000. Time frame for the protest should not exceed 15 minutes after the said match. Full deposit amount will be forfeited if the decision by the Disciplinary Committee, which shall be final, is not in favor of the protesting team.
Duration of Play
The games, groups and overall format will be determined based on the final number of teams in an age category, but the goal is to play the most possible games for all teams. The duration of games finally will be subject to the schedule and timeline of the tournament, if a game runs behind schedule it will be shortened without notice.
As an estimated breakdown:
Round-robin games will last an estimated 20 minutes (8minutes x 2half)– 2 minute half time. Time keeping for each game will be at the sole discretion of the referee in charge of that particular game.
The Final game will last 10 minutes each way with 2 minute half-time break. In the event of a tie at the final whistle, extra time will be played.
The extra time will be played with 5 players starting on the field for each team. These players must have been on the field at the end of regulation time. Every 1 minute a player from both teams will be removed until a 1v1 situation, or the 1st goal is scored. If a team removes it’s keeper another player may be substituted for the keeper as long as that player is wearing Gloves or Keeper Jersey.
Time Allowance
Team Officials are responsible for getting teams on the field by the time shown on the draw or advised by the Tournament Officials. Two minutes grace for late arrivals may be permitted. After this time has lapsed, the team, which is on the field ready to play, will receive a walkover with 3 match points and 2 goals FOR.
Minimum Players
A minimum of 5 registered players must be on the field for a match to commence.
Jersey
Although not absolutely necessary, teams are requested to bring two sets of numbered jerseys. In the event of clash of colors, the first named team shall change. Bibs will be available.
Referees
The Referee’s Decision is Final.
Yellow Card
A player receiving a YELLOW CARD is automatically suspended from the half. A yellow carded player cannot be substituted. A player receiving a total of TWO YELLOW CARDS in all games will be suspended from the next match. If the rule is not followed, that offending team will lose the game in question, and forfeit 3 additional points. This must be monitored by the teams, and is their own responsibility to honestly adhere.
Red Card
A player receiving a RED CARD shall be suspended for the subsequent 2 matches. A red carded player cannot be replaced in the match they are given the red card. Serious misconduct will result in a player being asked to leave the tournament.
Disputes
All disputes, queries or objection not covered by the above rules or dealt within tournament rules shall be referred to the Organizing Committee whose decision and ruling shall be Final and Binding.
Discipline
Any player involved in a fight, abusing match/tournament officials and damaging property shall be banned from the tournament and its premises. The team associated with this player must cover all costs associated with the incident, failure to do so will result in legal action, and player all team players info being sent to the authorities for resolution.
Change of Format
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to alter the format, rules, or location of the tournament due to unusual weather conditions or other circumstances as needed at their sole discretion.
Responsibility
The officials, organizing committee, event venue, and all other associated with the tournament accept no responsibility for any damage, loss or injury to participants, players or spectators during the duration of the tournament. Clubs/Teams are strongly advised to ensure that their players are adequately insured, and that they watch/guard their belongings at all times.
Prizes:
There is no prize money, just the fun of competing and some pretty cool trophies and medals:
i) Vets and Masters – Trophy for Winner of Cup, Plate, Bowl + maximum 12 Individual Medals for winners and runners-up of each category.
Super Masters: Trophy for Winner of Cup and Plate + maximum 12 Individual Medals for winners of Cup and Plate, and winner of Plate category.
There will be a special award for winners of Spoon Final in the Vets category.
ii) Other prizes at the sole discretion of the Organizer.
