TOURNAMENT RULES

Acceptance of Rules

All participating teams should note that by payment of the Tournament Fees, they are deemed to have agreed to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Bangkok International 7’s tournament. A Disclaimer and Indemnity Form which is combined into a Team Registration Form must be signed by the Team Manager/Captain and returned to the Tournament Organizing committee, and received, prior to their team’s first game.

Mode of Play

The Tournament will be played in accordance to FIFA laws of the Game except as amended where:
● There shall be no offside,
● Unlimited rolling substitutions without the referee’s permission. Touch hands on sideline, or player in a non-advantageous position with the 1st player coming off the field before the new player enters.
● No slide tackles (stay on your feet), or tackles from behind. A player may slide to keep the ball in play or score a goal provided there are no other players nearby or dramatically affected; this is based solely on referee discretion.
● No challenging the goal keeper. Please pull out of tackles with the goal keeper. Keepers can slide from inside the penalty area.
● Proper football equipment is required to minimize risk of injury. All players must wear shoes, shin guards, and socks at a minimum for protective gear. Players not following this rule may be carded, or removed from the game until such time as they are in compliance.

Registration of Players

Each team is allowed to register a maximum of 12 players. All players must be age eligible in the division(s) they participate in.

● Over 30s, except for 2 field players and 1 goal keeper who can be 25+ years old.
● Over 40s each team is allowed 2 field players and 1 goal keeper 35+ year old player.
● Over 50s, each team is allowed 2 field players 45+ years old, and 1 goalkeeper can be 45+ years old.
● Over 60s, each team is allowed 2 field players 55+ years old, and 1 goalkeeper can be 50+ years old.

To be eligible players must reach the minimum age requirement within the calendar year of the tournament.

Players name must be registered on a prescribed Form and handed to Tournament Officials at the briefing or before their first game being played. PROOF OF IDENTITY: photocopy of Drivers License or Passport. Players should note that if requested, the original identity document will need to be shown. NO ID, NO PLAY.

Unregistered Player or Under-Age Player

No player is allowed to play for more than one team in the same age division. If a player is found to have played for more than one team, they shall be banned from the tournament. The team(s) will forfeit the game(s) in which the offending player(s) played. Three (3) match points with a 2-0 result will be recorded in favor of each affected opposing team.

Tournament Format

Teams will be divided into pools and shall play on a League basis. Format will depend on number of teams in each division.

1. In all League games, points will be awarded as follows:

WIN – 3 Points
SCORE DRAW – 2 points
DRAW – 1 Point
LOSS – 0 Point

2. If two teams or more tie for a place in the League tables, the following rules shall apply in sequence as stated below:

i) Goal Difference
ii) Goals For
iii) Goals Against
iv) Team vs Team Result
v) Penalty kicks (three and then sudden death 1 for each team)

Protest

In the event of a Protest, it must in written form and accompanied by cash deposit of THB 3,000. Time frame for the protest should not exceed 15 minutes after the said match. Full deposit amount will be forfeited if the decision by the Disciplinary Committee, which shall be final, is not in favor of the protesting team. All protests should be submitted with video evidence if applicable to an in game matter. Testimony and other factors will be taken into account from all related parties, but does not constitute enough evidence to overrule in game decisions.

Duration of Play

First round matches will be 8 minutes each way. Second round and semi-final matches will be ten minutes each way. 2 minutes half time for all matches. Time keeping for each game will be at the sole discretion of the referee in charge of that particular game, or a central timing system. In the event of a draw in a semi-final the teams will move straight to best of three penalties.

The Final game will be 10-15 minutes each way with 2 minute half-time break. Duration is to be agreed between participating team captains and organizers. If an agreement cannot be reached the final will be 15 minutes. In the event of a tie at the final whistle, extra time will be played.

The extra time will be two four minute halves. Each team will start with five players on the field. These players must have been on the field at the end of regulation time. First team to score wins the match (golden goal). After 2 minutes a player from both teams will be removed, and at half time a further player will be removed from each team, leaving both teams playing the second half with 3 players each.

At each removal of a player, one other remaining player may be substituted. If a team removes its keeper another player may be assigned for the keeper as long as that player is wearing Gloves or Keeper Jersey and was already on the field (or was one of the two allowed substitutes).

Timing & Time Allowance

Team Officials are responsible for getting teams on the field before the time shown on the draw or advised by the Tournament Officials. Two minutes grace for late arrivals may be permitted. After this time has lapsed, the team, which is on the field ready to play, will receive a walkover with 3 match points and 2 goals FOR. However, in some situations and due to scheduling conflicts it may be impossible for a team to be on the field at a given time.

In this case, after they finish their existing game they will have 5 minutes allowance at the end of their current game to begin the next. The game’s time will be shortened as needed to maintain the schedule for future games.

Alternatively, the organizer may elect to reschedule the game at an alternate time on an alternate field in order to maximize the game play for all teams as they see fit.

Minimum Players

A minimum of 5 registered players must be on the field for a match to commence.

Jersey

Teams are requested to bring two sets of numbered jerseys. In the event of clash of colors, the first named team shall change. Bibs will be not be available. You could, as an alternative, use the (white) tournament shirts.

Yellow Card

A player receiving a YELLOW CARD is automatically suspended from the game. A yellow carded player can be substituted at the start of a new half of play. Meaning that the offending team will be a man down for the remainder of that half.

A player receiving a total of TWO YELLOW CARDS which results in RED CARD, in a game will be suspended from the next 2 matches. If the rule is not followed, that offending team will lose the game in question, and forfeit 3 additional points.

This must be monitored by the teams, and is their own responsibility to honestly adhere.

Red Card

A player receiving a RED CARD shall be suspended for the subsequent 2 matches. A red carded player cannot be replaced in the match they are given the red card for the remainder of the game. Serious misconduct will result in a player being banned and asked to leave the event.

V.A.R. & Disputes

All disputes, queries or objection not covered by the above rules or dealt within tournament rules shall be referred to the Organizing Committee whose decision and ruling shall be Final and Binding.

If a team has video evidence of a situation in a game happening in real time and they disagree with the referee, they may ask the referee to watch the video evidence. It is up to the referee if he/she chooses to watch and/or modify their decision.

Referees

The Referee’s Decision is Final.

Indiscipline

No players or others from a team may enter the field for any reason during a game. All communication with any official must be made during the game by the captain or team manager only. Any player involved in a fight, abusing match/tournament officials and damaging property shall be banned from the tournament and its premises. The team associated with this player must cover all costs associated with the incident, failure to do so will result in legal action, and all of that team’s players info being sent to the authorities for immediate resolution.

TOURNAMENT ORGANIZERS

The tournament organizers may act as 4th officials as needed at any time without notice to teams. This includes enforcing rules, and any other matter as needed to keep the event running smoothly. The Tournament official’s decisions are final. For all matters outside of a game in play, the tournament organizer committee must all be present for a matter to be discussed. If not, only the original rules and schedule will apply.

Change of Format

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to alter the format, rules, or location of the tournament due to unusual weather conditions or other circumstances as needed at their sole discretion.

Responsibility

The officials, organizing committee, event venue, and all other associated with the tournament accept no responsibility for any damage, loss or injury to participants, players or spectators during the duration of the tournament. Clubs/Teams are required to ensure that their players are adequately insured, and that they watch/guard their belongings at all times.

Prizes

There is no prize money, just the fun of competing and some pretty cool trophies and medals:

i) Champion team in each division – Trophy + maximum 12 Individual Medals.

ii) Other prizes at the sole discretion of the Organizer.
