ITS STILL ON!
At this moment in time we have one upcoming event in question which is the Bangkok International 7s. The current status is confirmed “ON” and we are working with both the venue, medical provider, and other government agencies to ensure that we take the needed measures to address the concerns of everyone in a timely manner.
Registration for the tournament has been completed and closed since February 28th, 2020 with all available slots being taken across the 4 men’s age divisions.
Accordingly, because the event is scheduled to be held at a school, we have also contacted multiple other venues which may be a better fit for the event, and to ensure that the education system is not affected. We will address this potential change of venue and report any change, if needed, at the time a change is made.
The position of the APFT is that if we must postpone the event, we have the following options available to all teams:
- Your team fee can be transferred to the new date in 2020.
- Your team fee can be transferred to the next available event in 2020 which is scheduled for Vietnam in November.
- Your team fee can be transferred to the 2021 edition of the Bangkok International 7s in 2021.
It should be noted that until such time as a decision to postpone is made, all registered teams should plan to be at the event on the current schedule.
We will address this issue further in early May, or at such time as the Thailand government makes its position clear regarding travel at the time of the event.
